ERCOT Power

ERCOT power prices started the week with a rapid increase,. Mid week the prices dipped slightly and steadily declined as the week came to an end.

ERCOT Prompt month deliveries closed at $72.55/MWh, increasing $0.66/MWh or 0.91%.

ERCOT ‘08 finished the week at $78.69/MWh up 0.82%.

ERCOT ’09 closed the week at $75.54/MWh up 0.67%.

The prompt month for the Houston Zone finished at $76.30/ MWh an increase of 0.86%. The prompt month North Zone finished at $72.55/MWh up 0.91%.

NYISO-NEPOOL Power

Northeast power prices moved upward as the week started. This upward movement continued into midweek. The week finished off in this steady upward movement and closed at a higher price compared to last week.

Prompt month prices for the Northeast are 0% higher to 6% lower than 3 months ago for the same trading month.

NYISO Zone J prompt month closed the week at $90.65/ MWh increasing $2.35/MWh, a change of 2.59%.

NYISO Zone A prompt month finished at $61.40/MWh with a gain of $0.10/MWh or 0.16%

Massachusetts NEMA prompt month closed at $81.95/ MWh a change of 2.14% or $1.75/MWh.

Massachusetts SEMA prompt month finished the week at $75.75/MWh, increasing 4.29%.

PJM Power

PJM power prices kicked off the week on an upward track, consistently increasing into mid-week and continued on this upward path as the week ended.

Cinergy prompt month finished the week at $58.40/MWh, a change of 2.23%, increasing $1.30/MWh.

NI Hub prompt month finished up $1.55/MWh to close at $57.50/MWh, a change of 2.70%.

PJM West Hub prompt month was up $1.70/MWh closing at $68.40/MWh, a change of 2.49%.

PSEG prices for the prompt month closed at $78.50/MWh, a change of 2.42% or $1.90/MWh.

Compared to 3 months ago, PJM prices rose from 6% to 16% for the same trading period.

Natural Gas Market

Natural gas prices began the week on an upward trend. Prices cooled at midweek and continued to decline the remainder of the week.

NYMEX prices for the prompt month finished the week at $7.80/MMBtu an increase of 2.49%.

April 2007 prices are 5.68% higher than 3 months ago for the same delivery period.

NYMEX Bal. ‘07 closed at $8.41/MMBtu a change of 2.27%.

NYMEX Cal ‘08 finished the week at $8.82/MMBtu; NYMEX Cal ‘09 closed at $8.47/MMBtu.

Algonquin, Transco Z6, and Tetco M3 prompt month closed at $1.40/MMBtu, $1.65/MMBtu, and $1.14/MMbtu respectively.

Natural Gas Storage: Gas in Storage Increased 58 Bcf

Working gas in storage was 1,592 Bcf as of Friday, April 6, 2007, according to EIA estimates.

This represents a net increase of 23 Bcf from the previous week.

Stocks were 119 Bcf less than last year at this time and 352 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,240 Bcf.

In the East Region, stocks were 124 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 4 Bcf.

Stocks in the Producing Region were 182 Bcf above the 5-year average of 460 Bcf after a net injection of 13 Bcf.

Stocks in the West Region were 46 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 6 Bcf.

At 1,592 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
