ERCOT Power

ERCOT power prices remained steady in the beginning of the week and jumped mid week before closing lower than the previous week.
ERCOT Prompt month deliveries closed at $59.20/MWh, decreasing $0.79/MWh or 1.34%.
ERCOT ‘08 finished the week at $72.83/MWh down 0.02%.
ERCOT ’09 closed the week at $70.88/MWh up 0.18%.
The prompt month for the Houston Zone finished at $63.33/ MWh an decrease of 1.25% and the prompt month North Zone finished at $61.45/MWh down 1.70%.

NYISO—NEPOOL Power

Northeast power prices increased mid week, closing lower compared to last week.
Prompt month prices for the Northeast are 7% to 9% less than 3 months ago for the same trading month.
NYISO Zone J prompt month closed the week at $84.50/ MWh decreasing $2.15/MWh, a change of 2.54%.
NYISO Zone A prompt month finished at $59.25/MWh a loss of $1.75/MWh or 2.95%
Massachusetts NEMA prompt month closed at $75.75/ MWh a change of 0.73% or $0.55/MWh.
Massachusetts SEMA prompt month finished the week at $70.30/MWh, increasing 1.85%.

PJM Power

PJM power prices started the week steady and jumped mid week while closing up compared to last week.
Cinergy prompt month finished the week at $54.00/MWh, a change of 1.85% increasing $1.00/MWh.
NI Hub prompt month finished up $1.80/MWh to close at $53.65/MWh, a change of 3.36%.
PJM West Hub prompt month loss $0.30/MWh closing at $61.50/MWh, a change of 0.49%.
PSEG prices for the prompt month closed at $68.80/MWh, a change of 2.11% or $1.45/MWh.
Compared to 3 months ago, PJM prices are 4% to 5% lower for the same trading period.

Natural Gas Market

Natural gas prices started the week with a decrease and took a slower decline at the end of the week.
NYMEX prices for the prompt month finished the week at $6.92/MMBtu a decrease of 2.30% or $0.16/MMBtu.
March 2007 prices are 6.82% lower than 3 months ago for the same delivery period.
NYMEX Bal. ‘07 closed at $7.58/MMBtu a change of 1.87%, down $0.14/MMBtu.
NYMEX Cal ‘08 finished the week at $8.21/MMBtu; NYMEX Cal ‘09 closed at $7.99/MMBtu.
Algonquin, Transco Z6, and Tetco M3 prompt month closed at $1.35/MMBtu, $1.59/MMBtu, and $1.09/MMbtu respectively..

Natural Gas Storage: Gas in Storage Decreased 115 Bcf

Working gas in storage was 1,516 Bcf as of Friday, March 9, 2007, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 115 Bcf from the previous week.

Stocks were 324 Bcf less than last year at this time and 158 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,358 Bcf.

In the East Region, stocks were 35 Bcf above the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 92 Bcf.

Stocks in the Producing Region were 103 Bcf above the 5-year average of 461 Bcf after a net withdrawal of 22 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 19 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 1 Bcf.

At 1,516 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
