ERCOT Power
ERCOT power prices began the week at a declining rate and reached its peak at midweek. The week ended with prices decreasing back to its original levels.

ERCOT Prompt month deliveries closed at $46.10/MWh, increasing $0.64/MWh or 1.40%.

ERCOT ‘09 finished the week at $70.89/MWh up, 1.22%.

ERCOT ‘10 closed the week at $69.80/MWh, up 1.89%.

The prompt month for the Houston Zone finished at $47.85/ MWh an increase of 0.30% and the prompt month North Zone finished at $46.10/MWh up 1.40%.

NYISO-NEPOOL Power
Northeast power prices stayed at the same levels throughout the week.

Prompt month prices for the Northeast decreased by 18% to 27% compared to 3 months ago for the same trading month.

NYISO Zone J prompt month closed the week at $73.16/ MWh decreasing $0.63/MWh, a loss of 0.86% from the last week.

NYISO Zone A prompt month finished at $53.85/MWh, a gain of $0.20/MWh or 0.37%.

Massachusetts NEMA prompt month closed at $59.98/ MWh, an increase of 0.25% or $0.15/MWh.

Massachusetts SEMA prompt month finished the week at $59.10/MWh, increasing 0.25% or $0.15/MWh.

PJM Power
PJM power prices started the week at constant rate and increased slightly by mid-week. The week closed with prices staying on this slightly increasing path.

Cinergy prompt month finished the week at $45.25/MWh, a change of 1.10%, increasing $0.50/MWh.

NI Hub prompt month finished the week with a loss of $2.68/MWh closing at $43.80/MWh, a change of 6.12%.

PJM West Hub prompt month gained $0.20/MWh closing at $50.35/MWh, a change of 0.40%.

PSEG prices for the prompt month closed at $62.35/MWh, a change of 0.32% or $0.20/MWh.

Compared to 3 months ago, PJM prices are 19% to 22% lower for the same trading period.

Natural Gas Market

Natural gas prices decreased as the week began and peaked at mid-week. The week closed with prices returning to its declining path.

NYMEX prices for the prompt month finished the week at $5.65/MMBtu, a decrease of 1.22% or $0.07/MMBtu.

Oct. 07 prices are approximately 25% lower than 3 months ago.

NYMEX Cal. ‘08 closed at $7.75/MMBtu, a change of 0.19%, up $0.01/MMBtu.

NYMEX Cal ‘09 finished the week at $8.26/MMBtu; NYMEX Cal ‘10 closed at $8.14/MMBtu.

Algonquin, Transco Z6, and Tetco M3 prompt month closed at $1.22/MMBtu, $1.59/MMBtu, and $1.02/MMbtu respectively.

Natural Gas Storage: Gas in Storage Increased 106 Bcf
Working gas in storage was 3,005 Bcf as of Friday, August 31, 2007, according to EIA estimates.

This represents a net increase of 36 Bcf from the previous week.

Stocks were 39 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 284 Bcf above the 5-year average of 2,721 Bcf.

In the East Region, stocks were 126 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 39 Bcf.

Stocks in the Producing Region were 123 Bcf above the 5-year average of 780 Bcf after a net injection of 1 Bcf.

Stocks in the West Region were 34 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 4 Bcf.

At 3,005 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range. (Sources: EIA)
