Derek Mumford ERCOT Power ERCOT power prices, started the week with a slight dip in price. By mid-week the prices stayed on a consistent path, and finally decreased as the week came to an end. ERCOT Prompt month deliveries closed at $66.80/MWh, decreasing $5.75/MWh or 8.61%. ERCOT ‘08 finished the week at $76.88/MWh down 2.35%. ERCOT ’09 closed the week at $74.53/MWh down 1.34%. The prompt month for the Houston Zone finished at $71.05/ MWh, a decrease of 7.39%. The prompt month North Zone finished at $66.80/MWh down 8.61%. NYISO-NEPOOL Power Northeast power prices started the week on a steady path. Price decreased slightly by mid-week and the week ended lower than the previous week. Prompt month prices for the Northeast are 5% higher to 10% higher than 3 months ago for the same trading month. NYISO Zone J prompt month closed the week at $88.75/ MWh decreasing $1.90/MWh, and 2.14%. NYISO Zone A prompt month finished at $56.75/MWh with a loss of $4.65/MWh or 8.19% Massachusetts NEMA prompt month closed at $77.05/ MWh a decrease of 6.36% or $4.90/MWh. Massachusetts SEMA prompt month finished the week at $71.05/MWh, decreasing 6.90%. PJM Power PJM power prices kicked off the week on a slightly decreasing rate. Prices stayed steady by mid-week and continued on steady downward path as the week came to an end. Cinergy prompt month finished the week at $53.90/MWh, a decrease of 8.44%, decreasing $4.55/MWh. NI Hub prompt month finished down $4.40/MWh to close at $53.60/MWh, decreasing by 8.21%. PJM West Hub prompt month was down $4.40/MWh closing at $64.00/MWh, decreasing by 6.88%. PSEG prices for the prompt month closed at $75.00/MWh, decreasing by 5.87% or $4.40/MWh. Compared to 3 months ago, PJM prices rose from 10% to 12% for the same trading period. Natural Gas Market Natural gas prices slightly declined at the beginning of the week. Prices increased slightly by mid-week and continued to decline the remainder of the period. NYMEX prices for the prompt month finished the week at $ 7 . 3 8 /MMBtu, decreasing 5.69%. April 2007 prices are 10.44% higher than 3 months ago for the same delivery period. NYMEX Bal. ‘07 closed at $8.02/MMBtu, decreasing 4.83%. NYMEX Cal ‘08 finished the week at $8.61/MMBtu; NYMEX Cal ‘09 closed at $8.35/MMBtu. Algonquin, Transco Z6, and Tetco M3 prompt month closed at $1.35/MMBtu, $1.65/MMBtu, and $1.14/MMbtu respectively. Natural Gas Storage: Gas in Storage Decreased 46 Bcf Working gas in storage was 1,546 Bcf as of Friday, April 13, 2007, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decline of 46 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 217 Bcf less than last year at this time and 280 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,266 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 73 Bcf above the 5-year average following net withdrawals of 43 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 163 Bcf above the 5-year average of 473 Bcf after a net withdrawal of 6 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 44 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 3 Bcf. At 1,546 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range. (Source: EIA)
