ERCOT Power

ERCOT power prices declined at the start of the week. Prices took an upward turn by mid week and the week ended with a steady upward slope on the price of power.

ERCOT Prompt month deliveries closed at $71.89/MWh, increasing $1.89/MWh or 2.63%.

ERCOT '08 finished the week at $78.04/MWh up 1.71%.

ERCOT '09 closed the week at $75.03/MWh up 1.93%.

The prompt month for the Houston Zone finished at $75.64/ MWh an increased of 2.66% and the prompt month North Zone finished at $71.89/MWh up 2.63%.

NYISO-NEPOOL Power

Northeast power prices started the week on a consistent path and decreased by mid week, closing at a lower price compared to last week (with SEMA as an exception).

Prompt month prices for the Northeast are 1% higher to 5% lower than 3 months ago for the same trading month.

NYISO Zone J prompt month closed the week at $88.30/ MWh decreasing $0.15/MWh, a change of 0.17%.

NYISO Zone A prompt month finished at $61.30/MWh a loss of $1.10/MWh or 1.79%

Massachusetts NEMA prompt month closed at $80.20/ MWh a change of 0.69% or $0.55/MWh.

Massachusetts SEMA prompt month finished the week at $75.75/MWh, increasing 4.29%.

PJM Power

PJM power prices kicked off the week on a downward track. It started increasing by mid-week and continued on this upward path as the week ended.

Cinergy prompt month finished the week at $58.40/MWh, a change of 2.23%, increasing $1.30/MWh.

NI Hub prompt month finished up $1.55/MWh to close at $57.50/MWh, a change of 2.70%.

PJM West Hub prompt month lost $0.05/MWh closing at $66.70/MWh, a change of -0.07%.

PSEG prices for the prompt month closed at $78.50/MWh, a change of 2.42% or $1.90/MWh.

Compared to 3 months ago, PJM prices rose from 2% to 11% for the same trading period.

Natural Gas Market

Natural gas prices began the week on a downward trend. Prices cooled mid-week and began to rise the remainder of the week.

NYMEX prices for the prompt month finished the week at $7.61/MMBtu a decrease of 0.03%.

March 2007 prices are 0.11% lower than 3 months ago for the same delivery period.

NYMEX Bal. '07 closed at $8.22/MMBtu a change of 0.02%.

NYMEX Cal '08 finished the week at $8.74/MMBtu; NYMEX Cal '09 closed at $8.40/MMBtu.

Algonquin, Transco Z6, and Tetco M3 prompt month closed at $1.39/MMBtu, $1.66/MMBtu, and $1.15/MMbtu respectively.

Natural Gas Storage: Gas in Storage Increased 17 Bcf

Working gas in storage was 1,569 Bcf as of Friday, March 30, 2007, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 58 Bcf from the previous week.

Stocks were 127 Bcf less than last year at this time and 337 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,232 Bcf.

In the East Region, stocks were 118 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 25 Bcf.

Stocks in the Producing Region were 177 Bcf above the 5-year average of 452 Bcf after a net injection of 32 Bcf.

Stocks in the West Region were 42 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 1 Bcf. At 1,569 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
